Who I am
Hi there! I'm Bryan Howard, the author of The Astra Chronicles—a title that makes me sound way more official than I feel most days.
Here's the thing: I've had this story rattling around in my head for years, like an annoying song you can't stop humming. But I never thought of myself as a "real author" (whatever that means), so I just... didn't do anything about it. Classic procrastination meets imposter syndrome, right?
Then one day, I stumbled across a news story about how creativity helps with anxiety—something I'm unfortunately very well-acquainted with. I racked my brain for creative outlets: Can't draw. Can't sing (trust me, my shower disagrees, but my shower is a liar). So I thought, "You know what? Let me just throw this story out into the world and see what happens."
Plot twist: I absolutely love it. Storytelling has become my favorite form of productive procrastination, and through The Astra Chronicles, I'm having a blast building a universe where gods have bad days, science gets weird, chaos reigns supreme, and humanity somehow survives it all. My goal? To create a world so full of mythology, scientific rabbit holes, messy characters, and wild adventures that you'll forget you're supposed to be doing laundry.
When I'm not writing, I'm geeking out over history, getting lost in philosophy, or stealing inspiration from the amazing people in my life (don't worry, I change the names). I weave all these threads into my stories because, let's be honest, real life is already stranger than fiction.
The Astra Chronicles is just the beginning of this wild ride, and I'm genuinely excited to share it with readers who—like me—love pondering the mysteries of the cosmos while also wondering if the universe is just laughing at us all.
